"Installment 18 - Thanksgiving" selected by Top in Fiction!

Hello Readers,

Welcome to 2025. It's been a profound unfolding so far that is just now beginning to sink in, especially for those of us in Los Angeles.

I can't imagine what it's like for my fellow Angelenos on the Westside in Malibu and the Palisades and those on the East in Altadena and Pasadena who have lost homes and neighborhoods. But the sense of devastation is very much in the field for the rest of us, too.

Receiving an evacuation order out of the blue, like I did on Wednesday night as the Sunset Fire broke out in Runyon Canyon, replete with its terse direness and alarming sound alert, has an impact.

Fortunately, the crews were able to knock the fire down before it reached any homes.

On The Summer We Said Goodbye front, we received another nod from the Top in Fiction Substack in the literary fiction serial category for Installment 18 - Thanksgiving!

I'm looking forward to what 2025 holds for Cosmo and Aris. I hope you are, too.
